white light/white heat Q

Who played piano on the VU's White Light/White Heat? Gotta think it was John Cale, but someone tried to correct me it was Lou Reed himself. Didn't think he tickled the ivories.

I don't know exactly...but I'd imagine it was John Cale.

I too would imagine it was John Cale but in the liner notes it says:

Lou Reed: Vocal, Guitar, Piano
John Cale: Vocal, Electric Viola, Organ, Bass Guitar

Yes, it's kinda surprising. I think most people, without reading somewhere how it really is, would assume that it's Cale playing the piano.
