I just bought the Sonic Youth first EP and I'm amazed by this album. It's worth listen to where the red fern grows that seems is a kind of previous version for I dreamed I dream. I just needed to tell that I love this album. Sonic Youth rocks!

It is indeed an early demo version of I Dreamed I Dreamed, one of my favourite SY tracks ever.

I Dreamed I Dream has always been one of my favorite SY tracks. The Burning Spear is great too.

Hm. I guess. It said he played it through a wah pedal so I always assumed it meant directly. I guess that makes sense though...Heh.
