That is too cool. I have never seen Sonic Youth on a cover of a magazine before. Do they sell this mag in America? Cuz if they do, I wanna go pick one up today.

Damn, Lee is one fine looking man. Thurston looks like an old man in a mid life crisis trying to look young, Steve looks like he is getting fatter, but good ol' Lee still looks good.

No man, Thurston just looks young to me. No need for crisis. Lee is doing great and I think Steve is doing fine even though yes, it appears he is getting slightly bigger. ( He just needs to drum to Cross the Breeze a few times to get the weight down.) Overall, I think Kim is looking the best. For her being like 50, she's doing fine. I do hate watching my idols get old. Stay young damnit so I can catch up with you!

trust me you don't to get so many bottles with the album covers they got some of the cheapest latin american sodas they could find, apparently they are pretty bad, and according to the interviewer, most of those bottles were taken by people who were there |

Best article I have ever read on Sonic Youth. Filter totally understands what SY is about and the history/ significance of the band. Ian Mackaye, SM, J Mascis, Butch Vig, Kathleen Hannah, etc all comment on SY. Its incredible.

My friend took one of the posters of that cover from the Filter show. He also got the last free magazine, so none for me.

I just picked this up the other day, good article. I like that they got all these other artists to comments on SY's impact and legacy. Very cool.

They were on the cover of Musician magazine in '95, while headlining Lollapalooza, and Thurston was on the cover of Guitar Player around '91. |
