Do you sort of know what I mean? To me there seems to be quite a few songs that the concrete meaning of the song doesn't matter to me, because I feel it reaches deeper than that.
For me, off the top of my head- Teenage Riot and Pavement- Gold Soundz |

Of course, mang. Some songs remind me of a time in my life, like my feelings at the time of getting into a song are locked into it when I hear it later.
I always try and take songs with what they mean to me, not straining to understand exactly what theyre about literally...it always varies of course, but... That's what I love about REM's Murmur...been listening for over 10 years and I still don't know what Stipe is singing...totally left up to interpretation. |

I'm like Chout, I mean I listen to the lyrics and all but, I try not over- analyze. The main thing is how the song makes me feel, or how it did when I first heard it. I think confusing or obscure lyrics are great, for the souls fact that a lot of the times they mean what you interpret them as, not neccesarily ONLY what the artist had in mind.
