well its a disappointment
the songs that could have had some life in them like 'Up On The Ladder' and 'Bangers And Mash' are pretty lifeless. they've butchered 'Last Flowers Til Hospital'. that song had so much promise. mojo gone if you're after it: Mediafire link Rapidshare link Pass:http://partofthequeue.blogspot.com/ |

I didn't like Last Flowers either. Everything else was good/great.

I don't know if this has already been over-posted about, but Radiohead have a list of tour dates. The Manchester show clashes with mbv

I like the distant steel drum (??) on 4 Minute Warning, the pace of Bangers & Mash, the spookiness of MK 2, Down Is The New Up sounds like it belongs on Hail to the Thief.

Now I'm kinda happy I did not order the box :P ha ha.
Kidding (a bit). Still have to listen to this "bonus disc", but I guess I will be happy with the single disc retail version then.. mah!!! The packaging looks great on the Discbox (oh, did anyone get a copy? thei shipped them out a couple days ago, right?), though...

A question comes to mind then: why on Earth would they release stuff that's not worth it? Radiohead are just not that kind of band. I remember vast majority of their past B-sides output was at least interesting (well, except Com Lag, maybe).
I haven't heard the disc yet, by the way.

why do you think they released it as a "pay what you will" type of thing?

honestly, I don't want to start a debate or anything, but it's not like in rainbows disc 1 was even that good.
The WHOLE thing reeks of rushed and uncaring; like the band knew they weren't doing amazing this time around. Even people who liked the record can probably agree on that point. But whatever. |
